Rydell to retire in 2020

Rydell Catherine Rydell is retiring as CEO of the $75M-revenue American Academy of Neurology after more than 20 years, effective May 2020. The society said that on her watch, AAN grew from 14,000 members in 1999 to 36,000 today, the operating budget increased from $11M to $68M, and long-term reserves grew from $7M to $65M. She is the first woman to head the group. Before joining AAN in 1999, Rydell was executive director of the North Dakota Medical Association for more than four years. She was also a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives for 12 years. Russell Reynolds Associates will assist in the search, which will begin this summer. Read More
